This is my quest to build the best chop I can. I can't really weld or do any body work. I have mechanical ability and a drive to get off my ass and build something. Just thought it would be cool to show all my fuck ups.

The Next Spielberg......

Gas Tank Mounted Right

Using progressively larger bits and a little filing

I drilled two holes in the backbone to fit my mounting bung

Then made sure everything was right

Then Tacked both mounts in place

Easy Peasy

Thanks to Lowbrowcustoms for the DIY article

Steak & beer

Steak from butchers korner beer from Mexico.....delicious!

Reconstruction

The mounts that were on the tank didn't have enough meat for me to use.

I cut them off!

I figured I would use some mounts I had lying around.  There was no way I was going to be able to bend them to contour to the backbone without a torch.

I also had to fill this in on the backbone.  I didn't like where the tank was sitting.  Fixing a fuck up....Story of my life!

Been Away!

I was moving along but the pressure to finish and the minimal fabricating skills I have were having a battle royal.  I decided it was best to take a break before I really mess something up.  I'm back now!
